Why Our Perfumes Are Oil-Based

Our perfume oils are made with fractionated coconut oil, which is a lightweight, skin-friendly oil that carries fragrance really well. It’s clear, odorless, and absorbs easily, so it lets the scent shine without adding its own smell to the mix. Think of it as the quiet helper that lets the fragrance do its thing.

Unlike alcohol-based perfumes, coconut oil doesn’t evaporate right away. Because of that, the scent warms up slowly with your skin and changes a little throughout the day instead of disappearing after the first hour.

How to Use Perfume Oils

Perfume oils are meant to be worn directly on your skin. Just apply a small amount to your pulse points... like your wrists, neck, behind your ears, or inside your elbows. These spots are a little warmer, which helps the scent release naturally over time.

A little really does go a long way. Start small… you can always add more if you want.

Perfume Oils vs. Alcohol Perfumes

Most traditional perfumes are made with alcohol, which creates that big burst of scent when you spray it. It travels farther through the air, but it also evaporates pretty quickly.

Perfume oils are a bit different. They stay closer to the skin, so the scent feels softer and more personal. It’s the kind of fragrance someone notices when they hug you or sit close by, not necessarily from across the room.

How Long They Last

Because oil evaporates slower than alcohol, perfume oils tend to stick around longer. Most people get about 6–12 hours of wear, depending on the scent and your skin.

Alcohol perfumes might feel stronger at first, but they often fade faster. Perfume oils are more like a slow, steady glow that hangs out with you through the day.

Basically, they’re the kind of scent that makes someone lean in and say, “Wait… what are you wearing?”

Our EDP Perfumes

Our EDP stands for Extrait de Parfum, which simply means a higher concentration of fragrance oil. In short: richer scent, better longevity, and a little more personality in every spray.

We use a sugarcane-derived alcohol base because it’s clean, plant-based, and lets the fragrance disperse beautifully when you spray it. The alcohol creates that first burst of scent, then quickly fades so the fragrance itself can settle in and do its thing.

How to Wear It

You can wear your EDP on skin, clothing, or both.

On skin:
Spray pulse points like wrists, neck, or behind your ears. Body heat helps the scent open up and evolve throughout the day.

On clothing:
A light mist on fabric can help the scent last even longer since fabric tends to hold fragrance well (just be mindful with delicate materials).

Longevity

Most people get 6–10 hours of wear, depending on the fragrance and your skin chemistry. Spraying a little on clothing can help extend it even further.

Basically, a couple sprays and you’re set for the day.

Dry Body Oils

Our dry body oils are basically skin’s best friend in a bottle. They’re made with a blend of lightweight, fast-absorbing oils that hydrate and soften your skin without leaving that heavy, greasy feeling behind. In other words: glow, but make it comfortable.

Each bottle is packed with nourishing oils like jojoba, sweet almond, sunflower, kukui, grapeseed, and argan, plus a boost of vitamin E to help keep skin smooth, hydrated, and happy. These oils are known for helping soften dry skin, support elasticity, and give your skin that healthy, hydrated look.

The best part? It absorbs quickly, so you can use it after a shower, before heading out the door, or anytime your skin needs a little love. No sticky feeling, no waiting around... just soft, touchable skin.

And of course, because this is Zomething Strange, each dry body oil comes in our signature scents, so your skin doesn’t just feel good… it smells amazing too.

A little pump goes a long way, but fair warning: once you start using it, your skin might expect it daily.

Candle Wax Removal

Effortlessly clean multiple containers by utilizing the oven method. Begin by scraping out excess wax with a butter knife or spoon. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and line a rimmed baking pan with foil or parchment paper. Invert the candles on the pan and place it in the oven for approximately 15 minutes. Once melted, carefully remove the pan and, using a towel or pot holder, wipe the inside with a paper towel. Allow the container to cool before cleaning with soap and water.

Alternatively, employ the hot water method for wax removal. Protect the surface with a towel or newspaper, then use a butter knife or spoon to clear out as much wax as possible. Pour hot water into the container, leaving some space at the top. The melted wax will float to the surface. After the water cools, remove the wax, strain the water to eliminate any small wax bits, and refrain from pouring wax down the drain. Scrape off any remaining wax and clean with soap and water.

Please note that the oven wax removal method is suitable for glass containers like our signature amber apothecary jars or clear glass jars. For ceramic or finished glass containers, such as our speckled glass vessels, opt for the hot water method.

Tip: Utilize the removed wax chunks in a wax melter to enjoy the lingering fragrance.

WAX MELTS

Our wax melts are soy blend made from approximately 52% soy and 48% paraffin. We use premium fragrance oils free of phthalates, parabens, and prop 65 chemicals. Hand poured with tons of love!

**These wax melts can be melted in a wax/candle warmer. You can use as much as you'd like, but make sure not to overfill the top as this can cause spillages. The wax can be re-melted until it is no longer fragrant. A reminder to never leave in reach of pets and children. Also, please DO NOT EAT the wax melts!**

REED DIFFUSERS (WITHOUT LOSING YOUR COOL)

Reed diffusers are your best friend for effortless fragrance—minimal fuss, maximum aroma. Here's how to get your space smelling fantastic in no time.

  1. Prep Time: Before setting up, lay a few paper towels under the glass vessel. Trust us, you don't want oil stains on your nice wooden table.

  2. Fill ‘Er Up: If your oil is in a separate container, pour it into the vessel until it's ½ to ¾ full. Leave some space so it doesn't spill over when you add the reeds. Skip this step if your vessel is pre-filled.

  3. Stick ‘Em In: Pop the reeds into the vessel. The more reeds, the stronger the scent (start with 6 to 8).

  4. Flip and Chill: Let the reeds soak for a few minutes, then flip them so the dry ends are in the oil. Spread them out to let the air do its thing. Give it 24 hours to fully kick in.

  5. Keep It Fresh: Flip the reeds once a week to maintain a strong scent.

  6. Scent Boost: Need a fragrance hit? Flip the reeds carefully to avoid spills. Don't go overboard—once every 2-3 days max.

A well-set reed diffuser can last 1 to 6 months, depending on the oil volume. If you need a stronger scent, just add more reeds. Now, go enjoy your hassle-free, fantastic-smelling space! 🌸
